Alberto Martinelli

Development Goals

Prof. Alberto Martinelli is an outstanding scientist in the field of sociological and political theory in the world.
(1) He is the Professor Emeritus of Political Science and Sociology at the University of Milan.
(2) He is the President of the International Social Science Council, UNESCO.
(3) He is the former President of the International Sociological Association (1998-2002).
(4) He received the honorary title of Grand Officer by the President of the Italian in 2012.
(5) He is the co-chair of the scientific advisory committee of the IMF.

Professor
Piotr Sztompka

Social capital
and the successful modernization

Prof. Sztompka is an outstanding scientist in the field of Theoretical Sociology in the world.
(1) He is the professor of sociology at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.
(2) He is the former President of the International Sociological Association (2002-06).
(3) He is the member of Polish Academy of Science, member of American Academy of Arts and Sciences, member of European Academy of Science.
(4) He is the member of the scientific advisory committee of the IMF.

Edward Tiryakian

Multiple
Modernities Reconsidered

Prof. Edward Tiryakian is a famous scientist in the field of modernization study and sociology in the world.
(1) He is the Professor Emeritus of Sociology at the Duke University, USA. He taught in the Department of Sociology from 1965 until his retirement in 2004.
(2) He served as Chair of Duke's Department of Sociology and Anthropology in addition to positions as Visiting Professor abroad.
(3) He was appointed Director for the Center of International Studies in 1988 and served until 1991.
(4) He is the member of the scientific advisory committee of the IMF.

Chuanqi He

Three roads of national modernization

Prof. He Chuanqi is the director and founder of China Center for Modernization Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2002.
(1) He is the founder and chief of research group of China’s modernization strategy since 2000.
(2) He is the Chair of the Organization Committee and co-chair of the scientific advisory committee of the IMF.
(3) He has been the author or co-authors of more than 30 books on modernization study.

3. Presentation Guideline

3.1 Oral Presentation

The official language of the IMF2016 is English.

The time for keynote speech and selected presentations will be 30 and 15 minutes, respectively.

Multi-media projector with laptop will be available for presentations. Multi-media presentations should be prepared in PPT/PDF file in English, and should be pre-loaded in the forum computer 10 minute before the session begins.

3.2 Poster Presentation

  Display board

A display board with 120 cm high by 90 cm wide will be provided for each poster presentation. The poster can be mounted with adhesive bands, which will be provided at the registration site.

  General Appearance

Poster presentation should include the title, abstract, main text figures and/or tables, diagrams and conclusions. Please include your contact data (names, institute, address, phone, fax, E-mail).Use of color in the poster presentation makes visual communication more effective. Textual and graphic illustrations should be kept simple but effective.

  Lettering

All poster lettering should be typewritten. Since your poster will be read at distance of a couple of meters, use appropriate size lettering.

  Set-up and Presentation

Authors or their representative must be in attendance to set-up their display before May 20th, and present their posters from 20th to 22th of May.

The paper presented at the IMF will be peer-reviewed and published in the Global Modernization Review (proceeding of IMF2016) by Science Press and World Scientific Publishing.
